Rehearse/perform commercial songs/material; includes blues, rock, folk rock, hip-hop, current popular music, electronic music, original material. Open to instrumentalists, midi instruments/controllers, vocalists, emcees, DJs. Public performance required (formerly MUS 122). Students are limited to combined total of four enrollments in MUS 39, 182, 184, & 187.

MUS 118 - DIGITAL MULTI-TRACK MUSIC RECORDING
Units: 2.5
Exposure to sound-recording principles, techniques, equipment. Emphasizes multi-track music recording process, editing, mixing. Receive hands-on experience with professional 24 track digital recording equipment; class participates in a variety of recording projects. Students are limited to a combined total of four enrollments in MUS 118, 130, 131, and 132.

MUS 131 - MUSIC PRODUCTION II
A second-level course in music production using the digital audio workstation, Ableton live. Topics will include audio effects, advanced midi effects, sampling, creating loops, signal routing, advanced controllerism, and dance music styles. Students are limited to a combined total of four enrollments in MUS 118, 130, 131, and 132.
