An advanced introduction to narrative, thematic, and aesthetic aspects of cinema. Course texts and assignments require a higher level of engagement and rigor in analyzing and writing about film art, technology, and theory. Credit in either HUM 71 or 71H, but not both.

HUM 74 - Film and Literature
Units: 3
This course analyzes films adapted from literary texts and the texts from which they have been adapted. Students explore the complex relationship between the two mediums and how the literary source is translated to the film form. Also listed as LIT 48; credit will be given in either area, not both.
