SPAN 1 - Beginning Spanish I
Units: 5
Designed to develop the fundamentals of communicating in Spanish. Students actively participate in classroom oral activities. Introduces writing skills and also presents general aspects of Hispanic daily life and culture. Taught in Spanish. Credit earned in either SPAN 1 or 1H, but not both.

SPAN 1H - Beginning Spanish 1 Honors
Units: 5
Designed to develop the fundamentals of communicating in Spanish. Grammar instruction enhances reading comprehension and writing accuracy. Active participation in classroom oral activities. Expanded assignments augment writing skills and knowledge of Hispanic culture. Field trip required. Taught in Spanish. Credit earned in either SPAN 1 or 1H, not both.

Designed to develop further the student's ability to comprehend and converse in Spanish and to enhance reading and writing skills. Students actively participate in classroom oral activities. SPAN 3 also presents additional aspects of Hispanic culture. SPAN 3 is taught in Spanish.

SPAN 11 - Advanced Conversational Spanish
Increases the student's ability to comprehend native spoken Spanish and increase oral fluency. Films are used, to enhance opportunities for conversation, writing and discussion of Hispanic culture.
